About & safety

The Still Here Map is a quiet, survivor-led participation project for male survivors of sexual abuse and the people who support them. It exists so men, supporters, partners, family members and professionals can mark their presence without being asked to explain themselves.

No names. No details. Just a light.

What this is

  • A symbolic map of presence, support and survival.
  • A way for male survivors to feel less alone without sharing their story.
  • A way for supporters to stand beside male survivors publicly and safely.
  • A survivor-led project created to push back against shame, isolation and silence.

What this is not

  • It is not a crisis service.
  • It is not counselling or therapy.
  • It is not a place to disclose abuse or share trauma details.
  • It is not a reporting pathway.
  • It is not a replacement for professional, medical, legal or emergency support.

How your privacy is protected

  • You do not need to create an account.
  • You do not need to give your name, email or phone number.
  • You are not asked to share your story.
  • You choose from pre-written messages only.
  • The map does not show exact locations.
  • Lights are symbolic and anonymous.
  • Each person is asked to place one light only, to keep the map meaningful.

A note from malesurvivors.com.au

This project was created from a lived experience perspective. It is not clinical advice. It is a quiet way to say that male survivors exist, that they matter, and that they should not have to carry shame alone.

No names. No details. Just a light.
